Birstall Foxes V Oadby Owls Tawny's - 27th October 2013 (Friendly)

Another away friendly coming up for the Tawny's today as they took a short trip to Birstall  today to play Birstall Foxes, an inform side.

The Tawny's took kick off and the Birstall  were straight on the ball attacking the Tawny's half but some great midfield play from Jack, Alfie and Kaian saw the ball change sides many times with a ball from Kaian that split the Birstall defense Myles found him self one on one the the keeper with a left footed shot there was note the keeper could do as the ball hit the back of the net . Birstall were not disheartened and picked themselves up, from the restart once again Jack & Alfie showed god ball control and then Reece  strong as ever showed some great skill down the wing which led to Alfie having a shot on goal that was fumbled out for a corner . Birstall  once more showed strength on the ball but Mookie was strong when helping out in defense  The Tawny's once more had the ball and were attacking the Birstall goal with some excellent passing between the players, the ball was with Jack who hit the ball the Birstall keeper but his body in front of the ball but some how the ball rolled over the line! this was a half of end to end football with both teams giving 110%.

Just after half time jack Stevens linked up well with Josh .Birstall threatened and upped their tempo in the second half but the Tawny's defended well with Kaylen cutting out the danger. Scott also flew himself around in trying to keep a second successful clean sheet. During one magical moment of the game, one of the Birstall players ran from their defense line to the opposition goal but equally Mookie jockeyed the player to run the ball out for a corner. Simply exquisite!!! with the final whistle about to go the Birstall team would not let the Tawny's rest with shot after shot raring down on Scott with all 7 of the Birstall players in the Tawny's box the reff plows his whistle and point to the spot ( i missed that on ) as the Birstall forward steeped up and hit the ball but Scott pulled of a world class save from the penalty .

The Tawny's are a team that play with a smile on the faces and give 110% in every match they play in as couches we are proud of all the players and how they are come-in on each week

Leicester Nirvana v Oadby Owls Tawnys - 13th October 2013 (Friendly)

It was a wet morning for this game witch went ahead after a late pitch inspection.

Tawnys kicked off and were straight on the front foot with sum lovely passing in the middle from Kaian, Alfie and Reece have his first game in the middle.

Alfie hit a long shot from just past the halfway line witch thundered back off the bar Kaian then picked up the ball and skilled a couple of players before passing to Myles who slotted the ball home Goal.

Oadby found them self tracking back but with sum good tackles from Mookie and Matt nothing was getting past.

Leicester Nirvana were putting a lot of pressure on Oadby attack after attack but with sum great saves from Scott kept them out he then played the ball out to Mookie who played the ball down the line to Reece who dribbled past 1 past 2 then unleashed a strike that just went wide he was loving the new role in the middle.

Then came a couple of subs witch saw Jack Wagstaff and Kaylen come on for Myles and Matt.

The Tawny's threatened and upped their tempo but Leicester Nirvana defended well cutting out the danger before along punt up field beat all the Oadby players and a quick strike from the striker found its way into the bottom corner.

Half time

The manager had a few words with the Oadby team and look to get them motivated and it must of worked straight from kick off Jack stole the ball and smashed home a beautiful strike a great solo effort.

Again stright from kick off Oadby stole the ball with sum great dogged tackling  from Reece who played the ball to Alfie who played a through ball to Jack and he pulled the trigger bang straight into the top corner  no keeper would have got that.

Leicester Nirvana kept there heads up and played sum lovely football and then found them self in the Oadby box only for Scott to collect the ball and with sum route one football Reece found himself with the ball just outside the box and had a shot witch the keep tipped wide, Jack took the corner  and swung it into the six yard box with Mookie getting his head to it the keeper saves and Myles tooks home the rebound.

Reece won the ball again and slipped the ball to jack who was in on goal and you guessed it hit the back of the net and ran past all the Oadby fans giving hi 5s hat trick hero.

Leicester Nirvana had another chance down the left hand side before Matt cut it out and went on one of his twinkle toes runs past 1 past 2 past 3 a quick change of direction and bang he thumped it home.

Oadby were now playing keep ball when it got played Back to Kaylen but it got intercepted and leicester Nirvana were in on goal but with a last ditch tackle Kaylen won the ball back and then kept his cool and played a smoth pass to Alfie who knocked it past the midfield player before hitting it from halfway line again and it was a dipping shot witch the keeper put wide .

Corner and Jack swings it in again with it going all the way through and out for a throw in witch Leicester Nirvana try and take quick but Reece steals it again and playes it to Matt who fires it from range a grass cutter and past the keeper and into the net.

Full time and all the players shake hands and enjoy a penalty shoot out.

Oadby Owls Tawny's v Epworth Forest - 6th October 2013 (Group Game)

On a day that was perfect for football the Tawny's welcomed Epworth to Coom Park. The Tawny's got off to a flying start with some great passing from Jack and Kaian which helped open up the space for Myles to receive the ball just outside  the box with a left footed shot circling into the bottom corner but somehow the Epworth keeper pulled off an amazing save. Therefore this gave us a corner which Jack bent the ball into the box out of nowhere Mookie rose to head the ball onto the crossbar. Straight from the goal kick the Tawny's where caught napping, a pass from the Epworth midfield split the Tawny's defence which therefore left Scott with a one on one. Scott kept his calm and pulled of a world class save, with a quick kick out found Jack Wagstaff on the left wing with some skilful footwork Jack cut in on his right foot and bent the ball into the top corner. Straight from kick-off Myles picked up a loose ball and laid the ball to Matt's feet who struck the ball from just inside Epworths half, there was nothing the keeper could do to stop the ball from hitting the back of the net.

Epworth didn't let there heads drop with some fast passing and a ball over the top which found the ball to the Epworth forward who only had Reece to beat with some great defending Reece cut out the danger. With half time fast approaching this was a game of end to end action seeing both keepers tested.

With the Tawny's making some half time changes seen Alfie moving to the right wing and Matt into defence resting Jack and Myles. Tawny's started the second half the same as the first with Jack Stevens running the midfield picking up every loose ball with a quick one two with Mookie, Kaian found himself with the ball just by the corner flag with a quick layoff to Alfie took the ball in his stride and bent the ball in off the post. Epworth's midfield was causing the Tawny's a lot of problems with some great passing and first time balls.

Alfie picked the ball up just outside the Tawny's box with a long pass to Kaian who brought the ball down with his chest with a quick turn on the ball leaving Epworth's defence standing, with a side footed shot all that the Epworth keeper could do was watch the ball hit the back of the net. Straight from kick off Matt nicked the ball and skipped past two players with a left footed shot the ball came of the back of Jack Stevens head and lobbed the keeper, Jack ran off doing his celebration and ran up to Neil the Tawny's coach asking if that was his goal. Epworth broke with a cross coming in to the Tawny's box Scott was forced to pull of a world class save with a fast throw out saw Alfie with the ball on the right wing with a long pass to the left wing Kaian picked the ball up with a quick lay off Reece found himself just inside Epworth's box with a first time shot the ball hit the back of the net.

On the day both teams battled hard with some good chances both teams gave 110% and battled to the end. WELL DONE BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hinckley United Red's V Oadby Owls Tawnys - 29th September 2013 (Group Game)

First-Half round-up

The game got underway and immediately it was proving to be a great game of football as both teams showed some real skill and promise on the ball and there was end to end football from both teams, however the Tawny's made a break and attacked the Hinckley goal with Alfie letting rip with a power shot all the Hinckley keeper could do is watch the ball hit the back of the net ( What a Start ) .

The Tawnys were on the attack and this ended with Malyes rattling the upright with a shot, now back  up the other end with Hinckley attacking and world class save from Scott only to release the Tawny's down the field the Hinckley back two was excellent in defence and the Tawny's were again attacking only for possession to change hands again and the Hinckley forwards to attack the Tawny's goal and for the Tawny's defence of Kaylen and Reece to show how strong they are, with Kaian once again out shined and skilfully teased the defenders of Hinckley.

Hinckley were attacking again and Scott maid an impressive save to tip the ball out for a corner  . Hinckley wiped the corner in Reece Cleared the ball out of the box but Hinckley kept coming forward with a pass that split the Tawny's defence the ball fell to the feet of the Hinckley attacker who took a  close range shot there was note Scott could do to stop the ball going in

Second-Half round-up

the Tawny's threatened and upped their tempo in the second half but  Hinckley defended well cutting out the danger. Scott also flew himself around in trying to keep a second Half clean sheet. During one magical moment of the game, one of the Hinckley players ran from their defence line to the opposition goal but equally Mookie  jockeyed the player to run the ball out for a corner. Simply exquisite!! with the corner coming in Kaylen cleared the ball to just out side of the box Jack picked up the ball and laid it of to the feet of Sparrow (AKA Jack Wagstaff ) with the ball wiped in to the box Matt with a sweet strike which had the Hinckley keeper beaten  and found the back of the net. Straight from kick off the Tawny's where court napping with some fast passing the Tawny's where left standing with a shot coming from just in side the box the ball slid in the bottom corner .

At the end of the first half  both teams where playing some very good football.

The Tawnys maid some changes witch seen Alfie come on for Jack Stephens and matt punched up front . Rugby started the 2nd half very well and put the Tawnys under a lot of pressure picking up all the lose ball in the middle of the park but this did not let the Tawnys heads drop with a catch from a rugby corner Scott slid the ball to the feet of Recce who pumped the ball over the top to matt who picked the ball up on thr half way line matt turnd on the ball and with his fast feet skipped past two then another with only the keeper to beat matt found him self just in side the box matt kept his head up  and side footed the ball round the keeper .

Whetstone Pumas V Oadby Owls Tawnys - 1st September 2013 (Group game)

With a good pre-season under there belts the Tawnys were in good form for there first league game with a only one player missing,

Reece Shippley was in Spain having a trial at Madrid.

It was a sunny morning and the Tawnys were ready  to kick off after captin Mookie winning the toss.

The Tawnys were straight on the attack with sum crisp passing from Jack Wagstaff, Alfie Parsons and Kain Solanki

witch left the Whestone midfield behind the move ended with Jack Wagstaff doing sum step overs that Ronaldo would of been proud off then when he had beaten his marker he wiped in a cross for Jack Stephens who was having his first game up front but at the last minuet the Whetstone defenders cleared the ball and were on the counter but all was fine as sum dogged defending from Kaylen Mistry and Mookie ensured that Scott Palmer would not be tested.

There were tackles being put in all over the park by both teams in this very even battle in the middle of the park witch ended with the Tawnys getting a freekick on the right hand side of the pitch the players packed the box as Jack Wagstaff preparid to take this set piece Mookie was being a pest in the box Alfie Parsons was lurking at the back post and then Jack Wagstaff curled in the free kick witch bounced just before the keeper and ended up in the back of the net.

There were sum changes for the Tawnys with Alfie and Jack Stephens coming of and Myles Barrett and Matt Collison coming on,

Kain was showing a lot of skill and composure on the ball drifting past players with tricks and turns witch left him one on one withe only the Whestone keeper to beat he let rip with a left footed strike witch produced a great save from the keeper who put it behind for a corner,

Jack Wagstaff  wiped in the corner witch was half cleared but Mookie brought the ball under his spell with a quick turn and first time strike witch flow past the stranded keeper.

Whestone were then on the attack as the Tawnys defense were caught napping and there striker hit a wicked shot witch Scott could only parry away and the striker had another shot go just wide.

Matt was pulling the strings at the back for the Tawnys with sum lovely passing building the play from the back a quick one two with Kaylen let Matt carry the ball into midfield were he played another one two with Kain then Matt unleashed a strike from outside the box  and the keeper scrambled to gather the ball.

Matt had to come off as he was carrying a knock. Alfie Parsons was showing signs of improving with the tackels he was putting in having adopted his new position in midfield.

There was more attacking by the Tawnys with a goal mouth scramble with found Jack Stephens on the end of the ball witch he poked home and then came the Garth Bale like celebration.

Whestone were still going strong attack after attack raing down on the Tawnys but yet more goal line saves from Scott ensured he kept them at bay.

Kain was yet again at the heart of things with his tricks and tackling he slid a lovely pass in to Jack Stephens who curled in a inch perfect shot into the bottom corner.

Myles was having a lot of joy up front finding him self in all the right places and getting off a lot of shots and closing down the Whestone defenders

All in all a very good display from the Tawnys

Player of the Day: Jack Stephens

Goals Scorers: Jack Wagstaff, Mookie, Jack Stephens (2)
