Oadby Owls Snowys V Leicester Pheonix - 29th September 2013 (League)

On this lovely sunny morning the Snowys were adamant on showing everyone watching just what they can do both individually and as a team. Making the most of our good sized home pitch the boys were quickly stroking the ball around and creating chance after chance. Matteo was the first to convert a chance with a sublime shot (cross) from near the by-line which went in off the underside of the bar. Joe then gave a strikers master class hitting 4 on the trot with a variety of finishes, Alex used his speed and strength to give himself a chance which he took smartly. Joe then made it 6 for him with another 2 great goals. Jack capped off a fine display with a close range header (shoulder) from a Matteo cross. ALL OF THE BOYS should be proud and pleased with their performance as its so nice to see all the hard work they put in at training coming together in a match with a superb TEAM performance!!!!

Allexton & NP V Oadby Owls Snowys - 14th September 2013 (League)

A cold morning meant a slow start for the Snowys and slow isn’t what they needed as they struggled to adapt to the fast astro-turf. Despite this Joe was on hand to register the first goal on the score sheet, after this Allexton were gifted a couple of goals with rare mistakes from the Snowys. As the half went on all the boys started to get used to the surface upping the pressure on the opponents and providing Joe the chance to grab his second of the game.

The second half was a real physical battle especially in midfield where Jack,  Matteo, Alex and Stepan put in a real shift which backed up with the cool calm defending of Gurveer, Elijah and Craig settled everyone down and gave the team a good base to work from. Jeevan’s accurate and quick distribution helped the Snowys quickly turn defence into attack and Stepan was on hand to make the most of one of these counter attacks with a smart finish.

Oadby Owls Snowys v Barrow Town Hawks - 1st September 2013 (League)

The Snowys started the new season with some impressive team work. Both teams were evenly matched with some good tackling and neat passing. With some great saves being pulled off from Jeevan and calm defending from Craig it gave the Snowys a solid base to build from. The midfield looked strong with brilliant communication from Jack, Elijah and Matteo getting the ball into the box for Joe to scoreBetween Gurveer, Craig and Freddie at the back, the boys were looking unbreakable. Again with excellent teamwork between Jack and Elijah, Elijah had a shot which was saved by a brilliant Barrow keeper and the ball fell to the right foot of Jack which he placed in the back of the net. Now with a real foot hold in the game the Snowys really pushed on, with some excellent passing and moving from the players it wasn’t long before Stepan riffled one in from the edge of the  box. Joe and Alex had been unlucky with some shots being saved yet again from the Barrow keeper. Eventually Alex got a well deserved goal rounding the keeper and finishing calmly ,created by Stepan. From Jeevan in goal to the boys up front every player had a fantastic game and made it a hard decision for player of the day.
