The team play in the Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League 11v11 – Division 5
Sileby Juniors FC 5 Oadby Owls Eagles 3 – 29th January 2012 (League)
What a game in really difficult conditions – heavy sticky.
A result that, although we lost, showed commitment and passion. We were always behind but did not let them settle and kept up the pressure. Had we had a little luck then the result could have gone our way.
Despite the conditions we applied ourselves very well and allowed the ball to do the work. On many occasions we strung passes together from one side of the pitch to the other and made chances.
Two goals from Man of the Match Harry Robinson (second match on the trot) and one from Sam Shenton kept us in the game.
I think today the way the lads played just shows us that, just maybe, some of the coaching is being absorbed – at times our football was superb.
Bring on the return match at home.

Oadby Owls Eagles 2 Wigston Youth 1 – 8th January 2012 (League)
First win of the year.
The first half was the best we have played all season. Football played like it should be – passing and moving, talking and supporting, competing and committing to very tackle. We attacked from the off and hit the woodwork twice, Wigston goalkeeper made some very good saves and we had two or three cleared off the line but Sam Shenton scored two goals that put us ahead and we were controlling the game. They broke away once and scored.
The second half was a different story. Wigston came out strong and put us under a lot of pressure but in reality did not have a chance due to good defensive work. We had some more chances but could not score anymore with their goalkeeper making a couple of very good saves to keep us out.
Man of the match was Harry Robinson who put his best performance of the season with a faultless display at left back. His tackling, passing and covering was excellent.
In the end a hard fought 2-1 kept us at top of division.

Oadby Owls Eagles 6 Quorn Juniors (2006) 2 – 18th December 2011 (League)
After indifferent last couple of matches we are back to winning ways. It was not a great game. First was even with a goal each from Harry Lloyd Rawson and Luke Tull but we gave away two silly goals to let Quorn back into it but we made a lot of chances (unlike previous weeks) with Issac Hutton exceptional on the right ring.
From the start of the second half the lads started to believe in themselves and that brought passion and commitment back into their game and with that 4 more goals and could have been more with the pick of the bunch from Matt Parker who rifled the ball from over 20 metres into back of the net from a delicate pass back from Luke Tull who weighed in with another goal himself and Harry Lloyd Rawson snatching two more for his hat trick.

Oadby Owls Eagles 5 Market Bosworth 3 – 20th November 2011 (League)
Back to winning ways – this was probably the best all round game of football we have played all season. It was a team playing football how it should be played. Passing, moving and supporting each other. We do however need to tighten up in defence and clear the ball a little quicker. That being said much of play started from defence through the midfield and up to the forwards.
Goals from all over the pitch from Kade Smith, Matt Parker, Luke Tull, Isaac Hutton and Harry Robinson with many other chances going begging. Kade Smith was Man of the Match for his all round performance and commitment.

Loughborough Dynamo 7 Oadby Owls Eagles 2 – 6th November 2011 (League)
We started well going 1-0 up with gola from Kade Smith but our defensive frailties let us down and we conceded goal within a couple of minutes. 5 minutes later we were back in front with another goal from Kade Smith.
Unfortunately, that is where our performance finished. Lack of courage and commitment allowed Dynamo to dominate and lack of concentration coupled with basic errors saw them score a further 5 goals without reply. It’s back to the drawing board and a lot of hard work over next few weeks for both players and coaches.
Player of the match was Kade Smith not only for his two goals but he was the only player who was committed and cared enough to battle – he won may balls both on the floor and in the air even though he is one of our smallest players.

Mowbray Rangers (2003) 2 Oadby Owls Eagles 1 – 23rd October 2011 (League)
First loss of the season. Ignoring the referee’s performance we made enough chances to win the game twice. It was one of those games where nothing went right and nothing went in. Some good player performances none the less with Matt Parker being MOM for another very solid game where not much got by him and his ball distribution was very good.
A game to put behind us and get back to winning ways in next match against Loughborough Dynamo
Player of the Day: Matt Parker
Goal Scorers: Sam Shenton
Kingsway Rangers 0 Oadby Owls Eagles 12 – 9th October 2011 (League)
After last week’s loss the lads applied themselves very well and played some very good football in first half with a lot of quick passing and movement.
6-0 up at half time with Jack Smith scoring his first goals for the club. The second half started as the first with some slick movement and the goals kept on coming – should have had move but a very good team performance.
Player of the Day: None awarded – team performance
Goal Scorers: Harry Lloyd-Rawson (4), Sam Shenton (3), Jack Smith (2), Harry Robinson (2) and Isaac Hutton
Oadby Owls Eagles 1 St Andrews Magpies 4 – 2nd October 2011 (County Cup)
A game of two halves – we were a bit overawed playing against Division one team and that showed in first half being 4-0 down at half time.
However, a good talking to and with good listening the boys came out with a little more passion and commitment. We put them under pressure and got a deserved goal by Man of the Match, Luke Tull. We pushed forward and could have had another couple but having said that, so could St Andrews. On the day St Andrews deserved the win but if we improve and apply ourselves better we will be more than a match next time.

Oadby Owls Eagles 7 Anstey Swifts 3 – 25th September 2011 (League)
Another win but could have been better.
A goal up after 20 seconds with superb strike from Kade Smith, 1-1 after 2 minutes.
Sam Shenton put us ahead with goal direct from corner and another from Kade put us 3-1 but for another slip up – 3-2. Sam Shenton restored 2 goal lead to make it 4-2.
Pressure told and a further goal from Kade Smith to get his hat-trick but a break away and another defensive error made it 5-3. After further pressure and more corners two further goals came – one from Luke Tull who followed up well to slip it past goalkeeper and Kade Smith taking his tally to 4 and winning him Man of the Match award. We need to sharpen up at the back if we are going to beat the better teams but we have proven we have the ability to score goals from any position in the team.

Wigston Youth 2 Oadby Owls Eagles 3 – 14th September 2011 (League)
Well, well another win!!!! But this was not won by playing great football but by pure grit and determination. We went one goal down after 10 minutes. We pushed forward and ball came out to Man of the Match, Jack Bandy who rifled the ball back into the top of the net from outside the box. A goal mouth scramble saw Wigston score against the run of play but this did not stop the boys from pushing forward again and again. The pressure soon paid dividends and a well taken goal by Harry Lloyd Rawson put us back on level terms. Then, in one of their few attacks in last ten minutes Wigston broke clear and with only Aman Panacer to beat their centre forward shot but up stepped Aman to make a superb save.
Up we went and camped outside their box and were given a deserved free kick on the edge of the box. Matt Parker was told to come from defence and take the kick. There was an air of anticipation and Matt took his time to place the ball, took a couple steps back, looked up, knew where he wanted to put the ball and did exactly that – in the back of the net. A well earned win which showed the character of the team – they are never beaten.

Quorn 2006 0 Oadby Owls Eagles 5 – 11th September 2011 (League)
Good result in very windy conditions and on full size pitch. Although as a team they played well it could have been a lot better. Isaac Hutton scored a very well taken hat trick to earn ‘Man of the Match’. Sam Shenton and Harry Lloyd Rawson scored the others goals. Still 100% record but will have to improve if this is to continue.

Oadby Owls Eagles 3 Blaby & Whetstone 1 – 7th September 2011 (League Cup)
What a performance!!!. 1-0 up after 10 minutes from a superb volley from just outside the box from Kade Smith. Lead doubled 5 minutes later with Sam Shenton free kick from well outside the box – 2-0 at half-time. Chances came and went as we put pressure on. Blaby scored late on from a goal mouth scramble but we pushed forward to win corner. Up stepped Sam Shenton to score directly from the corner – a superb performance from all players. Chase Peel slotted superbly into Centre half and won ‘player of the day’.

Oadby Owls Eagles 5 Loughborough Dynamo (2004) 2 – 4th September 2011 (League)
2-0 down at half time reflected how we played and did not play to how we wanted. The second half saw an improvement and substitution worked with Harry Lloyd-Rawson coming off sub’s bench to score a hat trick. Two further goals from Sam Shenton sealed a hard earned win with a lot of work to do to improve on this performance.

Goal Scorers: Harry Lloyd-Rawson (3) and Sam Shenton (2)
