FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you have any further questions or queries, please email us and our membership secretary will reply accordingly.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE ACADEMY?
The emphasis of the Academy is that whilst developing their football skills the children have fun and enjoyment. The Academy is open to all the community and is purposely not restricted to children who are members of specific Oadby Owls teams. Indeed there are many children from other local football clubs who use the Academy to supplement their football development. The Academy is available to children of all abilities and for those who are not inclined to be members of an individual team.
WHAT AGE CAN YOU START?
The club welcome children from 5 years old (exceptionally we may allow 4 year olds)
DO YOU CATER FOR GIRLS?
As a club we are keen to encourage more girls to join as we want to expand beyond the 4 girls team that currently exist
ARE THERE KIT REQUIREMENTS?
All children must have a minimum of shin pads and football boots. During the colder months we expect parents to ensure their children have the correct clothing for the conditions. After the child has attended for six sessions the club will provide them with an Academy kit.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
All parents MUST park at Beauchamp College, not Coombe Park, whether that is attending the Academy or playing home matches on a Sunday. The only exceptions are those requiring a disability parking space.
The car park at Beauchamp backs onto Coombe Park via a small footbridge so access is extremely easy
WHEN IS THE ACADEMY ACTIVE?
The Academy begins in September at the beginning of the new season, there is a winter break from December through to the end of January. After the break it continues to mid June when we have our final session which is our annual Fun Day
WHAT ABOUT BAD WEATHER?
The club go to great lengths to ensure we can open as many Saturdays as possible, however there are times when we have to cancel (sometimes at short notice) so please follow us on either Facebook or Twitter to get the very latest up to date information
